T4 where employed to implement the M&E design & works carried out in association with the planned means of escape works for the Painted Hall (PH) at the Old Royal Navy College. The PH is open to the public almost every day of the year except when hosting special events, banquets, functions etc. of which there are a significant number. The PH is an internationally important interior within an outstanding Grade 1 Listed Building and Scheduled Ancient Monument located within a World Heritage Site. The Works comprised of the provision of a new fire escape stair from the south west corner of the Lower Painted Hall to the external courtyard, one level below to replace the existing service lift. This required modifications to some local electrical services, without effecting the basement switch room adjacent to the service lift. Renewal of the passenger lift serving the Nelson Room and kitchen below, with the Lift entrance at the first floor re-orientated to access the Servery Corridor. Reworking of the first floor area south of the Nelson Room to include a refurbished toilet and the introduction of a Drinks Service/Glasses Store and Food Prep Servery areas; and the refurbishment of the corridor to provide a fire escape route.
